We participate in the Canine Health Check Genetic testing/ or Embark as required through AKC and it is a long process and pending. We strive for excellence and grateful for the technology that's come a long way to be apart of this program to make sure we are breeding the very best companion Miniature Schnauzers.
We also participate in the AKC Canine College (yes there is such a thing!) and continuously learning more and more every year.
Education never stops here at CSR!
Genetic tests that CSR participate is through Embark, Paw Print Genetics (Canine Health Check), and AKC.
Dr. Schmidt at Johnson Ranch Animal Clinic has been our long time Veterinarian and has been practicing for 35+ years. He pays special attention to detail making sure every pup is happy and healthy!
We are indeed grateful for technology and the long journey over the years it has become. We are able to know how many we are expecting with any animal on the farm.
Because we carefully interview each family or individual that wants to reserve a puppy from us, we want to make sure we have the right fit for you. I do not reserve any spots without a deposit . Reservations are a first come first served basis.
Once a decision is made, we will send a puppy contact to you via email or mail . A non refundable $500 deposit is required to hold your spot on the list on that litter and recorded on the puppy contract. This deposit goes towards puppy price. Deposits are done through Zelle, PayPall or cash.
This contract protects you and the breeder. Be careful of scams out there! When in doubt, please call for questions!
**No breeding rights are given**
AKC registrations are mailed out when your puppy has been altered and a copy of the vet cert is shown to the breeder
Weekly updates are emailed from the time they are born up until 6 weeks of age or until puppy selection time happens. Also at 6 weeks of age is when they receive their 1st series of core vaccinations and start potty training outside. Puppy selection time can be scheduled in person or virtual. Because of sanitary reasons, visits will mostly be outside with sanitation precautions before meeting and handling pups.
After puppy selection time at 6 wks of age, vet exams happen at 7 weeks of age with our amazing veterinarian , Dr. Schmidt at Johnson Ranch Animal Clinic. If he is not available, I do see Dr. Bowers. If both are not available, I do see Dr. Billie at San Tan Animal Hospital in Queen Creek.
At 8 weeks of age your little bundle of cuteness is ready for you to be picked up. Breeder will go over everything before going home with you.
A puppy kit will be supplied to you that contains:
1. A bag of puppy food, wet and dry
2. NuVet sample supplements (vitamins)
3. Chew toy and chew bully stick
4. Puppy blanket (Mom's scent on it)
5. Puppy potty training and feeding schedule
6. Vaccination and deworming schedule
7. Copy of your contract with the health guarantee.
If you have had a Miniature Schnauzer or not, you do know that ongoing socialization and training is always required to have a successful life with your puppy! Make sure you do your research with training videos, books and or a puppy trainer
Please reach us at copperstarranch@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
YES! If you have not done your research, you will be pleased with the results. Schnauzers are great dogs to have because of this reason.
Because we don't predict personalities, puppies will be puppies. Training is key to a successful pup. Your puppy is what you put into them.
Contact the breeder as we do accept Zelle, PayPal or cash. At puppy pick up time, the balance will be due then.
Depending on which litter or pup, it will vary with super coats (thinner coats and less maintenance, or mega coats (plush coats) - Most families don't have a preference.
Absolutely! Just like humans, there will be phases they go through.
Baby phase, Toddler phase, adolescent/teenage phase, adult phase and senior phase- Training is crucial the 1st year of it's life and beyond.
12-15 years of age. I wish all pets lived longer. Depending on diet and genetics, we try to give the best life and best nutrition. We try our best to produce the best. We cannot predict Mother Nature and that is the sad part. Every fur baby has an end just like humans. We don't know when it will be time but alway enjoy them while they are here!
Breeder will supply this list after reservations are recorded and or will be emailed later on during weekly puppy updates. A puppy kit is always supplied at pick up time with the necessities. You are not required to follow what we do here. We do what has been successful for CSR. You do what you think is best for you and the puppy.
Yes! I do a 1 time grooming for $150. Please make sure you are still desensitizing your puppy with clippers on their backs and faces to have them get used to the noises and vibrations. This will help prep them for a groomer.
Per the contract you signed, YES. To protect you and your puppy, your vet will need to exam and get your puppy get on the schedule for their next series of vaccinations. It gives you a peace of mind that you are getting a healthy puppy! You will also need to schedule with your vet the next series of vaccines. This is crucial as your pup is not fully vaccinated until they are 4 months of age.
We have no problem boarding your puppy but please be advise per the contract, boarding fees, etc. will be implemented and charged at pick up. Ongoing potty training, socialization, and vaccination schedules will be continued at a charge. Please see your contract.
Because there is a plethora of puppy training videos, books, etc, I do advise that you seek these out and or a puppy trainer in your area for great advice on training. As said before, your puppy is what you put into them. Don't forget to look at the reviews!
In the event that this does arise, we carefully work with you in finding a placement for the puppy while they are in your care. This is a traumatic thing for a puppy to go through once it has bonded with your family and to go to a different one. THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS!
We have no problem boarding your puppy at $65/day/night as the boarding fee. It does not matter which day or night for drop off and pick up. It is a flat fee of $65/day/night. You don't have to have your rabies vaccine yet, but all other core vaccinations will be required before drop off. Your vaccine record will need to be shown to me and I will make a copy and file it.
We are careful when shipping puppies out to their new homes as we advocate for a flight nanny at your expense. We also recommend Uship.com as they do have professionals that deliver puppies nation wide. We have had many families drive to come pick up their puppies from out of state. They have come from all over from Texas, CA, Utah, New Mexico, New York, etc. We ship all over the United States.
